Where to surf

An unspoken rule about surfing I wish someone told me:

When paddling out and someone is on a wave in front of you,

Paddle AWAY from the shoulder and avoid getting in their way

It’s better for you to get worked in the white wash than get over a wave

but be in someone’s way!
